Algalif seeks Asia-Pacific market growth with Astaxanthin ingredients and introduction of finished products

Algalif, Icelandic producer of astaxanthin ingredients and finished products from microalgae, is expanding into the Asia-Pacific market with its Astalif astaxanthin oleoresins, and the launch of its IceCaps astaxanthin soft gelatin capsules. In addition, the company has launched its Icelandic Harvest brand of finished astaxanthin products in response to retail trade demand.

“The Asia-Pacific region is a key market for Algalif, and instrumental to our global growth strategy,” says Simon Seward, Global Business Director at Algalif. “There is an increasing awareness throughout Asia regarding the need to take a proactive approach to personal wellness. We are seeing tremendous demand in the region for our astaxanthin ingredients, as the nutrition and supplement markets in Asia continue to experience extremely rapid growth, as well as strong interest in our Icelandic heritage”

Algalif is launching its range of premium natural astaxanthin soft gelatin capsules, branded IceCaps, that are supplied in bulk for private label applications. Made with Algalif’s premium Astalif Astaxanthin oleoresin, the soft gels are available in different astaxanthin potencies, including 4, 8 and 12 mg.

The company is also introducing its new Icelandic Harvest brand for the retail market featuring Algalif’s Icelandic astaxanthin in a series of dietary supplement products.

In January, Algalif achieved Non-GMO Project verification for its Astalif 5 percent and 10 percent oleoresin ingredients. At the time, NutritionInsight reported that the company was seeing strong demand for non-GMO in the nutritionals space.

“More and more consumers are avoiding GMOs and demanding ‘all-natural’ products. According to the Non-GMO Project, over 43,000 products from over 3,000 brands are non-GMO verified, which represents more than US$22.3 billion in annual sales. In fact, Non-GMO Project Verified is the fastest-growing label trend in the natural products industry,” according to a company spokesperson.
